Indoor Oak is a small, compact, evergreen shrub native
to Madagascar. The bushy plants will reach up to 45 cm tall with a
spreading habit. The dark metallic green leaves have scalloped edges.
The leaves are opposite, smooth, and dark green, ranging from 2-5 cm
long by 2-5 cm wide, occasionally with leaf-stalks about 3-10 mm long.
The leaf shape, as implied by one of its species name
diversifolia, is extremely variable, from round to oak-like. The
small clusters of sparse and insignificant greenish yellow to yellow or
white flowers are borne in leaf axils at branch-ends.
